There is no place I go back to year in and year out other than Greece. I look for small, less discovered spots with clear blue water, friendly family-run inns and local nature to swim, hike and play in. This year takes us to Antiparos, is a small Aegean island a short 10 minute boat ride from Paros, the larger island. The island of Antiparos is a preferred island by those who like to get away from the party and touristy scene and opt instead for it’s laid-back and off-the-beaten-path vibe. In Antiparos Island, you can explore the picturesque old town, seaside caves, whitewashed churches, a nearby archaeological island the island castle. Water sports abound - enjoy snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing and scuba diving , or plain old swimming.. :)
We will stay at the recommended Kournos Village in light-filled junior suites with private bathrooms, just a stones throw from the beach. And May is considered one of the best months as it is fairly free of tourists but offers a nice 25 to 28 degree weather.
We will enjoy morning and evening yoga in a covered outdoor spot with incredible sea views. Breakfast at the award winning hotel restaurant will follow. The rest of the day you can laze on the beach, go for a hike or an adventure on the small island.
Cost:405e for 5 night for single junior suite / 330e for for shared room and daily breakfast PLUS 370e workshop fee. You may choose to add dinner onto your hotel package should you wish. Or you can explore the few restaurants around town. Antiparos is quickly becoming a foodie paradise.
Antiparos is s small island 7 minutes away from Paros, Island. Flying to Athens: I recommend buying separate flights from your departure city to Athens AND A SECOND flight for the Athens to Paros.. Athens to Paros flights happen almost hourly but you won’t see this roundtrip from your departure city. It is also cheaper! Ferries from Athens, Naxos or Mykonos or neighoring islands can be found on numerous comparable sites. The Paros-Antiparos trip is a short 7 minutes and leaves every 30 minutes from 7am to 11:30pm. Ferries from Athens to Paros leave once daily. You are responsible for your own booking arrangement that suits you. Ask me if you are not clear. I am a Greek travel wizard. :)
